Spider Requiem (Proposal)
Interactive Installation
2014

The “Spider Requiem” attempts to visualize the invisible force of sound, space and the environment to produce a close association between the auditory and visual, tangible and intangible forces that carry out the conversion and release. A giant artificial cobweb is installed in the corner of the space, unfold or supported by a frame-shaped structure. Innumerous vibrators are scattered on the nodes of the cobweb; the performer triggers the vibrators by pressing the piano’s keys. The process of the performance will trigger the vibrators simultaneously or successively, meanwhile shake the web, one after another, thus amplifies the power of the sound and constitutes a visual landscape.

This work can be presented under two forms:
A/ As performances by famous musicians playing tracks or riffs;
B/ As an interactive device, allowing viewers to experience on their own.

Media: Old piano, fibrous material, vibrators, signal lines, contact switch
Size: Variable

A作为表演,由演奏家弹奏著名曲目或者即兴演奏;
